ABSTRACT
Meningitis with eosinophilia is an uncommon clinical condition that defined as the presence of at least 10 eosinophils/mL in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or a CSF eosinophilia of at least 10%. Parasitic infections account for the majority of eosinophilic meningoencephalitis cases with three most common etiologies were Angiostrongylus cantonensis, Gnathostoma spinigerum, and Taenia solium. Because of a scarcity of easily available serological tests, it can be difficult to early diagnose of eosinophilic meningoencephalitis due to infectious agents in clinical setting. Treatment for eosinophilic meningitis is also controversial, with differing advice on how to proceed. In this review, we described the clinical features, diagnose and treatment of eosinophilic meningoencephalitis due to parasitic infections in human.
