ABSTRACT
Objectives: Survey the patients' satisfaction with nursing students' communication following the AIDET model.
Participants and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 107 patients in internal units with nursing students, a questionnaire based on patients' satisfaction according to AIDET criteria.
Results: the percentage of students who perform the AIDET mode regularly was 72% and very often was 86%. The percentage of students doing steps AIDET model regularly and very often was 86%; 79.4%; 73.8%; 72%; 75.7%; 81.3%; 72.9% and 83.2% respectively. The proportion of good, very well, quite well nursing students' communication was 39.3%; 36.4% and 7.5% respectively. Regarding the specic contents of communication skills was good, very good and excellent ranging from 88.9% to 94%.
Conclusion: Nursing students at Bach Mai Medical College in 2022 demonstrated high compliance (72-86%) with the AIDET communication model, resulting in strong patient satisfaction (83.2% rating good to excellent). To further improve, it's recommended to develop a detailed AIDET program, integrate it into pre-clinical teaching, increase clinical supervision, and strengthen overall communication practices in medical facilities.
