ABSTRACT
Objective: To assess the utility of time-lapse (TL) imaging in selecting embryos for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) biopsy.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed embryos that were cultured with TL imaging and selected for PGT biopsy.
Results: The embryos selected for biopsy primarily had KIDScore grades ranging from 5-9 points. Embryos selected using TL imaging had higher rates of genetically normal results and lower rates of abnormalities compared to embryos selected using conventional morphology assessment. Early-cleaving embryos that divided from the zygote stage to 5 blastomeres faster had higher genetic normalcy rates than slower dividing embryos.
Conclusions: TL imaging improves embryo selection for PGT by enabling the identification of embryos with higher viability and genetic competency.
