ABSTRACT
Coarctation of the aorta (CoA) is often treated in childhood, some cases emerge in adulthood. Treatment options for CoA include balloon angioplasty, stenting, and surgery based on factors such as age and anatomy. While Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) anatomical closure frequently happens after birth, some adults have persistent patency. Despite infant surgery being the accepted approach for concurrent CoA and PDA, covered stents have successfully treated similar adult patients. We describe a 25-year-old woman who was found to have a combined CoA and PDA during an evaluation for hypertension and a precordial murmur, and she received a covered stent for the treatment of aortic coarctation and concurrent patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).
