ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate factors affecting post-acute rehabilitation outcomes in patients at Bach Mai Hospital in 2023.

Methods: We prospectively studied 192 patients undergoing post-acute rehabilitation at Bach Mai Hospital from March to October 2023.

Results: Among 192 patients, 78.1% had good rehabilitation outcomes. Factors associated with poorer outcomes included male gender (OR 2.38, 95% CI 1.06-5.33), education below university level (OR 3.53, 95% CI 1.02-12.15), overweight/obesity (OR 2.61, 95% CI 1.14-5.99), alcohol use (OR 2.11, 95% CI 1.03-4.32), high fat diet (OR 2.51, 95% CI 1.24-5.07), hypertension (OR 3.34, 95% CI 1.12-9.96), and diabetes (OR 3.09, 95% CI 1.37-6.96).

Conclusions: Enhanced counseling as part of the care process should target men with low education levels and comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes, focusing on limiting alcohol intake and dietary fat to improve rehabilitation outcomes.
